“Eye of the Beholder” Follow-Up Questions

Watch the Twilight Zone episode “Eye of the Beholder” and then answer the questions on this page.  The questions are based on the material from the “What Is Morality?” worksheet.

  1. What defines morality in the imaginary world shown in the video?The Twilight Zone: "Eye of the Beholder" (woman with doctor)

  2. What are the strengths of that way of defining morality?

  3. What are the weaknesses?

  4. Optional: How does the statement “The government always defines morality” contradict itself?  (Hint: What about a government that disagrees with that statement and says something else should define morality?)

  9. List three areas where you think our own American government is defining right and wrong for everyone else.  Give a Bible passage that teaches about that area and explain whether the Bible agrees or disagrees with the government.
